On March 27, Integrated Electronic Systems Lab Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "iESLab") together with electricity bureaus of Thailand (PEA, MEA, EGAT), the Ministry of Energy, the Energy Administration, the Ministry of Education, and the King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Chaokuntaharn Ladkrabang (KMITL) organized the technical seminar titled "IoT for Smart Energy" in KMITL. Wang Liang, General Manager of iESLab, and relevant technical experts attended the meeting and gave a keynote speech entitled "IoT for Smart Energy". Local well-known companies in Thailand and KMITL's teachers and students also attended the meeting, totaling over 300 people.

At the meeting, iESLab introduced conditions about the construction and operation of the phase-I of the Smart Campus project (Smart Campus-KMITL AMI) of KMITL. This project is to install and deploy a power information collection system for five typical buildings and dormitory buildings selected in the KMITL. The equipment includes more than 400 smart meters (including three-phase meters, single-phase meters and 4G meters) and concentrators; communication methods include PLC, RF, 4G; as per the actual needs of the school, the pre-collection system (HES), data management system (MDMS) and Billing system have been deployed to realize the system master station function.

The project is the first AMI system truly deployed, implemented and operated in Thailand. Since it was put into service in January 2019, the system has been operating normally, which has greatly improved the intellectualization of the electricity consumption information, improved the efficiency, and received great attention and recognition from the school and the electricity bureau.

In recent years, relevant power sectors in Thailand has actively promoted the intelligent collection of power information but fail to apply it in reality due to limited conditions. The success of the project has provided benchmarks and models for the intellectualization of electricity information in Thailand. In the future, iESLab and KMITL will continue to play their respective advantages and carry out cooperation in various fields such as smart IOT, smart grid, and smart public utilities.
